Edmonton, City Center

At last! Our first article in Canada!

Ten days now that we have been going all around Edmonton to find our home on wheels, and we are just beginning to understand how big and different it is here.

On our first day in Edmonton, we rented bikes, and had a big list of vans and motorhomes we wanted to view. Naive as we were, we thought we could bike almost everywhere (« Nah, that doesn’t seem that far away, Google Maps says it’s only 40 minutes ! »). Five hours later, we had visited one van, and gone back home again, physically exhausted and still jet lagged.

But what a trip ! In Edmonton, you can see little houses with perfect gardens, big skyscrapers towering above the trees, and huge parcs along the river in which you get lost and think you have left the city. All that with a beautiful and bright evening sun.

After having viewed six vans and two motorhomes in one week, and cheated many times by renting a car instead of using a bike for hours, we found our perfect van. But more about that later !
